From Tim & Barb
Dear Dr. Bob,
“Wishing you a beautiful day filled with all the things that bring you joy!!”
Barb K. & Tim
“Just got off the telephone with you–so wonderful to get your additional input and updates for care! …”
Dear Dr. Bob,
“Thank you once again … for the great gift of your precious time and amazing kindness, ‘rarified’ expertise and compassion to our many needs! Your ‘sunshine’ and good will to us (once more!) alleviated many fears and misunderstandings–as we also had so many concerns and questions which you exquisitely clarified in your delightfully detailed and organized manner. We certainly believed arriving to meet with you that night we were facing a precancerous condition perhaps leading to a more deadly blood cancer; but also depriving Tim of the other treatment options for his prostate cancer in an effort to preserve is bone marrow.
We continue to feel honored to have a physician who possesses such astonishing integrity, humility and warmth. As I’ve told you previously in other correspondence your authenticity and commitment to your patients (and caregivers) as I have experienced and observed (read about) is unlike anything I have ever encountered.
I truly rejoice at our good fortune and give God my gratitude daily in prayer and reflection for Tim’s care. We left Monday night with renewed hope and courage for 2018.”

Dear Dr’s., Maria, Lydia, Sam & Mary,
“I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart for the past eleven years, [those] who have fought so hard for my extended life, whereas the medical community back East only promised me two years to live as of March 2003. You have been most kind, attentive, and truly amazing in your constant monitoring of my condition. The medical community back East has been amazed at the miraculous standards you have set in my care. You are truly on the cutting edge of Prostate cancer treatment. I don’t know how to thank you enough for all of the extra years that you have given me. It has truly been a blessing from the lord.”
Thank you so much for everything,

Hi to my Friends and Loved Ones at COMG!
I think of all of you often, but especially at this time of the year. What you do in helping others in your personal way is so important not only during treatment, but also in the sometimes unfortunate aftermath. It was your special treatment of John and I which has helped me move forward since John’s death. I will NEVER forget your personal compassion and gentleness you offered to both John and I. I am forever grateful.
This box represents the fun in the Holiday season. The fun in life is the primary point! It’s not much, but I thought these things would bring a smile to your faces, if only for a moment! I certainly smile when I think of all of you.
For the last 9 months, I have been coping with severe leg pain from my waist down to my foot. It was originally diagnosed as sciatica…and was told it would “go away” on its own. Four weeks ago, we finally took an MRI and found a mass in my lower lumbar area near my spinal cord. My first two Neurologists gave me a very bad prognosis: less than three years with treatment. I finally visited a third neurologist at K U Medical Center and he said he could not say what it was until he “got a piece of the meat”. So, I am now in my fourth week of recovery from that spinal surgery. Of course, I was ready to call my friends at COMG if need be, but he was able to remove the tumor in its entirety and it was benign. I do not know how I am so fortunate that I received a reprieve on life. This recovery is a tough one, no doubt. I am toughing it through and doing much better. In fact, my second time out of the house alone was to shop for the Holiday package for all of you at COMG.
I am thankful for my recovery, but, as always, thankful for all of you. What you do is not easy, as the people helping profession is always a challenging one. But all of you always stepped up to the challenge for John and me. I thank you, again, for that.
I hope all of you have a great holiday and I hope to visit you again sometime soon!
Love to all of you…

Happy to see Dr. “Bob” Leibowitz is still in the trenches. The man deserves a Nobel prize for his triple hormone blockade.
In 1990 after refusing surgery and radiation, with a PSA of 21 and a Gleason of 9 (5+4), I flew out to see him.
Since then I have had only one other 13 month repeat of the THB, a few years ago.
PSA still+-1. T, however, decreased. Otherwise – A-OK.
Sincerely, Dr. John R.

Dear Dr. Leibowitz,
Thank you for your support. The many years of dedication you have put into your research oncology as a whole has helped us and so many.
God Bless You & Yours.

Who knew other than you early chemo!!! From my experience in a few patients I believed you were right, but fear of complications was a major block in doing early chemo in more men. Just chicken I guess.
Best to you, Dr. Peter L.

The flowers may be late for Memorial Day, but in fact they are for my memories taken from my visit last week, which I will cherish for many years.
You are, each and everyone, devoted and work with a precision and professionalism that is certainly most rare in the medical community.
My memories include surprise and some excitement but most importantly an optimism that you’ve given me as regards my health.
I give you my most sincere thanks and look forward to my next visit with you!

Dear Dr. Bob,
Since about 2003 we asked urologists to do a scientific study on the THB. Finally I found Prof. Wullich, Stoeckle and Dr. Kamradt, all three University of Saarland at that time who agreed to do it. From my more than 2500 patient data files (by now) about patients who were interested and about 600 patients who agreed to have the THB administered I sent 377 files of patients who seem to me most suitable for a study to the University of the Saarland. My files do not compile all necessary medical data but only the addresses and only such information which the patients told me to discuss their situation with them.
Ours, the patients organisations intend, was primarily not to compare our data with those in your publication but we were highly interested to find out how THB works in Germany. We had several sessions with Dr. Kamradt from the University of the Saarland in Homburg and also with Prof. Stoeckle, the chief. We discussed the questionnaire even though our proposals were not completely accepted.

Your entire office staff is to be COMMENDED on their professionalism, courtesy and patient kindness. I’m very “in tune” to that, and you do not see it often. Much appreciated.

But mainly Cindy and I can’t thank you all enough for the non-stop effort and time that was put into helping us with counseling, treatments, meds. and future scheduling. You make us always look forward to going back there.
Also whoever is brave enough can please give Dr. Bob a big klss for us!!! He really made our day and night an day an night!!!! I would have kissed him myself but wife is the Jealous kind!
You can pay people to work but can’t pay them to care – you’ll take it several levels above!

We greatly appreciate your contributions in making the Presentations of Dr. Bob and Dr. Eshaghian a hugely successful event. Their Presentations provided important medical information, expertly presented and with a sense of compassion and concern for those afflicted with the disease. Dr. Bob was @ his best with his occasional humor and delivery. I believe Dr. Bob has been giving Presentations to the Forum for 20 years, which make him the most senior active Presenter in the history of the Forum. We are very honored and feel privileged to have a long standing relationship with Dr. Bob.

Thanks so very much for the wonderful help you’ve been to us over the last 6 months. We have appreciated your quick & knowledgeable responses to problems, your efficiency and your friendly, kind attitude. Sister Mary’s Letter
I wish to thank you again for your loving care and concern for our beloved brother. I thank God for taking to Himself sooner than I realized. He was so grateful to you and your staff in the office as well as in the hospital.
Your concern for the family in making us more comfortable is another thing that we are most grateful for. It meant so much to all of us.
May God continue to bless you and yours as you serve Him in the sick.
Gratefully in Christ,
Letter from Janet
Dear Dr. Leibowitz,
It is with great sadness and a very heavy that I write to you to tell you that your former patient, Carol, passed away on July 15, 2014. She always spoke of you in the most glowing terms, and was so grateful for everything you did for her over the years. I know she would have wanted you to know what happened.
About a year ago, Carol was diagnosed as Terminal, from a metastasis of the lung cancer she had 3 1/2 years ago. It was in her brain, liver and spine. Her oncologist (Jane Golden) gave her a new drug, Tarceva, which miraculously made the brain and liver clear. Unseen was a tumor in her femur, still growing. It caused a fracture and Carol went in for emergence hip surgery. Ever the optimist, she sailed through the surgery, only to be felled by a blood clot 24 hours later. Her heart stopped, and she never rallied.
I believe you gave her 20 years of life she would not have had otherwise. I, too, am grateful for this. Our friendship goes back to 1967.
I am not sure if the family is planning a service. Right now, they are just struggling to go on with their lives. I can let you know if you like.
Letter from Peter H
Dear Dr. Leibowitz, Dear Dr. Eshagian,
Otmar H, your patient and our father, passed away on August 2nd, he has lost the fight against cancer. The main reason was his malignant skin cancer. At the end he ate almost nothing. The last two weeks was parenteral nutrition required.
But on his 84th Birthday (2014/06/06) he played the piano and was pleased with the many well-wishers.
Thank you for the successful treatment of his prostate cancer since 2002. This prolonged his life for more than a decade.

There are no words to adequately express the gratitude and love I have for all of you. You gave Jerry and I the years we shared together. But more than that, you always treated Jerry with dignity, kindness and patience. You respect human life, no matter how battered, bruised, or considered useless by society that life may be. You are truly the “Saints” of today’s world. You have chosen to help and serve that others have cast aside. Jerry offered all his suffering in union with that of Christ for all those who crossed his path. Please let’s continue to pray for each other until we meet again. God Bless You!
My Dear Friends,
Your kind expression
is so appreciated
Thank you for the beautiful card and the time you gave me with my beloved Jerry.
P.S. Dr. Bob, thank you from the bottom of the heart.
